Instructions for Using the THC Percentage Calculator (Based on Canadian Cannabis Labels)
When using this calculator, you will need to enter a few key pieces of information from the cannabis label. Canadian labels typically provide THC and CBD values both for the product “as purchased” (pre-activation) and “total” (post-activation, after heating). For this calculator, you’ll focus on the Total THC values, which represent the amount of THC that will be activated and available after use.
What You Need to Enter:
- Total THC (mg):
- This is the Total THC value listed on the label. It represents the total THC content (in milligrams) once the product is used as intended (i.e., after it is heated or consumed).
- Example: If the label says “Total THC: 254 mg,” enter 254.
- Number of Pre-Rolls:
- Enter the total number of pre-rolls in the package.
- Example: If the package contains 5 pre-rolls, enter 5.
- Weight per Pre-Roll (g):
- Enter the weight of each individual pre-roll, as indicated on the packaging. This is usually listed in grams.
- Example: If each pre-roll weighs 0.5 grams, enter 0.5.
How the Calculator Works:
- The calculator will divide the Total THC by the total weight of the pre-rolls, convert the result into a percentage, and multiply by the weight again to give the THC percentage.
Example:
Let’s say you have a package with:
- Total THC: 254 mg
- Number of Pre-Rolls: 5
- Weight per Pre-Roll: 0.5 g
You would input:
- Total THC (mg): 254
- Number of Pre-Rolls: 5
- Weight per Pre-Roll (g): 0.5
