Nebraska
In Nebraska, marijuana is completely illegal for both medical and recreational use. However, like North Carolina, the state has decriminalized possession of small amounts of weed. This decriminalization rule has been operating since 1979. Anyone caught with less than 1 ounce of marijuana, regardless of the THC percentage, and for a first offense, can be charged with an infraction, carrying a maximum fine of $300.
However, possession of more than an ounce or for repeat offenses can result in jail time and hefty fines. Despite the decriminalization, Nebraska isn’t a 4/20-friendly state in the slightest. If you’re traveling with more than an ounce of marijuana, you’ll want to avoid it.
On the medical side, only hemp derived CBD products are available as of today which is legally defined as cannabis with less than 0.3% THC. Some CBD products available in other states sometimes have a 1:1 ratio of THC to CBD.
