• Washington
  • Medical use: Legal
  • Recreational: Yes

Washington was one of the very first states to adopt recreational cannabis back in 2012. The state has always had a positive outlook on weed, though; it adopted medical marijuana back in 1998. For recreational users, you just have to be 21 to purchase, and you can possess up to an ounce of dried marijuana, 16 ounces of infused edibles, 72 ounces of infused liquids, or 7 grams of concentrates. The medical marijuana program was established in 1998 through Initiative 692, allowing patients to possess up to 8 ounces of usable marijuana and grow up to 6 plants.
