Following the passage of a bill in April 2021, adults aged 21 and older in New Mexico are permitted to possess up to two ounces of cannabis. Additionally, residents are allowed to cultivate up to six cannabis plants per person up to 12 plants per household. New Mexico was also one of the first to adopt medical marijuana and has been offering it since 2007. Patients with a valid prescription can possess up to 6 ounces of usable cannabis and grow up to 16 plants, with specific maturity requirements.
