• Kentucky
  • Medical use: Legal
  • Recreational: No

Currently, recreational marijuana remains illegal in Kentucky, and cultivation of marijuana is strictly prohibited. However, the state is actively working on establishing its medical marijuana program. Kentucky passed Senate Bill 47 in March 2023, allowing for a medical program to be established. However, you won't see any dispensaries out there until around 2025. Patients with a diagnosis from the list of 21 approved conditions will be allowed to possess up to a 30-day supply of medical marijuana, with exact limits still being established. In the meantime, patients can possess up to 8 ounces of marijuana, but it has to come from a state where weed is fully legal, meaning Illinois, Ohio, and Virginia. The issue with that is that you'll have to abide by each state's laws to ensure you're not transporting more than your legal limit in other states.
